Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, is in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, on a one-day working visit to appraise the security situation in the Northeast.
A statement by the Secretary to Borno State Government, Usman Jidda-Shuwa, said during the visit, the President will commission some developmental projects executed by the Borno State Government.

He will also commission the first phase of 10, 000 houses for the resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, and refugees across Borno State.
The statement described the Borno resettlement effort as a testimony to the relative peace achieved through the ongoing counter-insurgency operations.
It further said the people of Borno State recognise the President’s commitment to restoring peace in the Northeast.
