President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration will continue to partner with state governments, to actualize his renewed hope in agricultural drives and food sustainability.

President Tinubu said this while speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the 84-kilometre Bida-Minna road, worth 169.7 billion Naira, at Kakakpagi, in Katcha Local Government Area of the state.

He said that the construction of roads across the country would also save lives and pave the way for greater economic development.

The construction and repairs of the Bida-Minna road project has been ongoing since 2004.

It would normally take one hour to drive to Bida from Minna town, but due to the bad nature of the road, the 84-kilometre road takes about 3 hours.

The President, who was represented by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, said that the Federal Government would continue to partner with states that bring development to their people.

He added that the construction of roads across the country would not only save lives and pave the way for greater economic development, but would also help actualize his renewed hope in agricultural revolution, by making it easy for farmers to transport their produce.

Governor Umar Bago said the construction of the road and other infrastructure in the state is part of his new Niger Agenda.

He added that the standard dual carriageway will have street lights, an interchange, and an underpass at both ends of the road.

Bago said the Minna-Kataeregi-Bida road is of immense economic importance to the region and the nation at large.

It serves as a major link between the industrial hub of Lagos and the western and northern parts of the country.

The project is to be completed in 24 months from the date of the groundbreaking, to improve connectivity, engender social and economic development, and reduce travel time, among others.
