President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Nkanu Nnamdi, the son of renowned Nigerian author, Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

In a condolence message issued on Thursday, the President extended his sympathies to Ms Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family, describing the loss of a child as one of the most devastating experiences any parent can endure.

“As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child,” President Tinubu said, while empathising with the family during what he described as a profoundly difficult moment.

The President noted that Ms Adichie, a globally celebrated literary icon, has brought “joy and light to many homes around the world” through her works, and prayed that she and her family would find strength and comfort in God amid the tragedy.

“I mourn this sad loss with them,” the President added, assuring the family of his prayers and support.

The message was signed by the President.
