In a statement issued by his special adviser on Media and Publicity Ajuri Ngelale on Wednesday, President Tinubu acknowledged the sacrifice and selflessness of the Sultan of Sokoto, whom he says, since his assumption of office in November 2006, worked assiduously for peaceful co-existence in the country, and beyond by personally traveling, intervening, mediating, and chairing meetings on the need for harmony.

The President also highlighted what he described as the Sultan’s magnanimity, friendliness, and neighbourly outlook on life, seizing every opportunity to educate citizens on the benefits of amity in the society and solidifying Nigeria’s unity through platforms such as the National Peace Committee.

President Tinubu said he believes the Sultan’s wealth of experience will continuously be an asset for the nation with a particular emphasis on bridging religious, ethnic, and cultural divides and prayed for more years of strength, health, and wisdom for, the royal father.
