President Bola Tinubu has described Onyeka Onwenu as an iconic artist a versatile and extremely gifted person that applied herself to the whole gamut of the artistic enterprise.
In a statement by the presidential spokesperson. Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu said he was saddened by the passing of the widely acclaimed ‘Queen of Songs’ whose edifying and mellifluous rendition, ‘One Love’, in the 1990s evoked a fervour of fellowship and harmony.
President Tinubu said ‘One Love’ and other artistic interventions of the late musical icon was geared towards promoting public good.

The president also recalled her classic collaboration with King Sunny Ade in ‘Wait for Me’, a melodic campaign on family planning in the 1980s.
President Tinubu expressef his condolences to the family of the late artist, the Nigerian entertainment industry, the Imo State Government, and Onyeka Onwenu’s numerous fans for what he described as an immeasurable loss.
The multi-talented Onwenu was a singer, songwriter, actor, journalist, activist, and politician.
