TINUBU
Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has told the people of Ghana that their new President is a man of patriotic vision and substance.

The Nigerian leader said in a speech at the swearing-in of President John Dramani of Ghana that he believes that Mahama has a mission and intends to fulfill it.

Attending the ceremony as President of Nigeria and ECOWAS Chairman, President Tinubu said that while others may seek to demean Africa and keep brother pitted against brother, Ghana’s shining star, in the person of John Dramani, reminds us of who we are.

“Better yet, it reminds us of who we can be. That star means that we shall always strive to work together.”

President Tinubu said even when in disagreement, leaders should dialogue and discuss until an agreement is reached.

Stressing that “Never, never shall we harm others and never allow any outsider to hurt us or disrupt the unity for which so many of our heroes gave their sweat, blood, and very lives to achieve.”

He said it is time that Africa’s critics stop forgetting the strides Ghana, Nigeria, and others have made by continuing to ask Africa to prove herself, declaring that Africa has nothing to prove to anyone except herself.

The Nigerian leader expressed confidence that the new government, under the leadership of President John Mahama, will work with Nigeria to strengthen its powerful bond, leading to greater shared prosperity for the people.

President Tinubu added that he does not doubt that the administration will bring about positive change and progress to Ghana and its people.

Mahama, who served as the 12th President of Ghana between 2011 and 2017, was reelected in December 2024. He succeeds President Nana Akuffo-Addo, who ruled from 2017 – 2025.
