President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after his participation, alongside some members of Executive Council of the Federation at the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, ADSW2026 held in United Arab Emirates, UAE.

On the sidelines of the summit, Nigeria signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, CEPA with the United Arab Emirates, aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.

The agreement is expected to boost bilateral trade and investment, enhance technology transfer, and expand collaboration across key sectors including energy, infrastructure, agriculture, mining, and renewable energy.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Saturday, the pact reflects Nigeria’s commitment to leveraging strategic international partnerships to drive sustainable development and economic growth.

Addressing participants at the summit, President Tinubu announced that a joint Nigeria-UAE INVESTOPIA will be held in Lagos in February.

He explained that the initiative is designed to attract global investors and position Nigeria as a leading investment destination in Africa.

The President also disclosed that Nigeria aims to mobilise up to $30 billion annually in climate and green industrial finance as it accelerates energy transition reforms and expands access to electricity nationwide.

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is a global forum that convenes world leaders, policymakers, investors, and experts to advance sustainability and climate action.
