President BolaTinubu has returned to Nigeria following a state visit to the Republic of Türkiye, where he held high-level engagements focused on strengthening diplomatic ties and expanding economic cooperation between both countries.
The President arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 8:55 p.m., and was received by senior government officials and members of the State House.
During the visit, President Tinubu met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for bilateral talks covering trade, defence cooperation, energy, infrastructure and industrial development. Both leaders agreed to deepen economic relations and increase the bilateral trade volume target to five billion dollars, reflecting a renewed commitment to mutually beneficial partnership.
Several Memoranda of Understanding were also signed to enhance collaboration across key sectors, including manufacturing, construction, defence technology, energy and investment promotion.
The agreements are expected to strengthen private sector participation and attract increased foreign direct investment.
President Tinubu also interacted with Turkish business leaders, urging them to explore investment opportunities in Nigeria, particularly in infrastructure, agriculture, solid minerals and local manufacturing.
He reiterated Nigeria’s readiness to provide a conducive environment for investors.
The state visit according to the Presidency aligns with Nigeria’s foreign policy focus on economic diplomacy and strategic partnerships aimed at driving growth, creating jobs and promoting sustainable development.
