The Nigerian Senate has received the request of President Bola Tinubu to confirm the nomination of Shaakaa Chira as substantive Auditor-General for the Federation.
The President says the nomination is in accordance with Section 86(1) of the 1999 Constitution as recommended by the Federal Civil Service Commission.

The request is contained in a letter read by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio at plenary on Tuesday.
The request was subsequently referred to the Senate Committee on Public Accounts for further legislative action to report back in one week
