President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has written the Senate seeking an amendment to the 2022 Supplementary Appropriation Act, to allow the government to source 500 billion Naira as a palliative, to cushion the effect of subsidy removal on Nigerians.

The notice of the President is contained in a letter read at Thursday’s plenary by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.

The president added that the sum of Five Hundred Billion Naira has been extracted from the 2022 Supplementary Appropriations Act, for the provision of palliatives to Nigerians, to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal.
