President Tinubu seeks Senate confirmation of 19 Commissioners for NPC

President Bola Tinubu has asked the Senate to screen and confirm the nomination of 19 nominees for appointment as Commissioners for the National Population Commission.

The request, contained in a letter, was read by the president of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, during plenary on Tuesday.

The president says the request is by the provision of Section 154(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended.

The nominees include;

  1. Hon. Emmanuel Trump Еке – Abia state (New Appointment)
  2. Clifford Zirra – Adamawa State (Reappointment)
  3. Chidi Christopher Ezeoke – Anambra (Re-appointment)

4 Isa Audu Buratai – Borno State (Reappointment)

  1. Bishop Alex Ukam – Crossriver State (New appointment)
  2. Blessyn Brume-Ataguba – DeIta States (New appointment)

7 Jeremiah Ogbonna – Ebony State (New appointment)

  1. Tony Aiyejina – Edo (Reappointment)
  2. Mr. Ejike Ezen – Enugu (Reappointment)
  3. Mr Abubakar Damburam – Gombe (Reappointment)
  4. Prof. Uba Nnabue – Imo (Re-appointment)
  5. Sa’adatu Dogon Bauchi Garba – Kaduna (New appointment)
  6. Dr Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa – Kano (New appointment)
  7. Yon Afolabi – Kogi (New appointment)
  8. Hon. Olakunle Sobukola – Ogun (New appointment)
  9. Hon. Temitayo Oluseye Oluwatuyi – Ondo (New appointment)

17: Ms Mary Ishaya Afan – Plateau (New appointment)

  1. Mr. Ogiri Itotenaan Henry – Rivers (New Appointment)

19 Mr. Saany Sale – Taraba (Reappointment).
