President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally welcomed Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf into All Progressives Congress (APC), describing Kano State as too politically and economically strategic to remain outside the centre of national decision making.
Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the President assured Kano residents of greater inclusion and expanded federal support as the State aligns with the ruling party.
Kano is the commercial hub of Nigeria’s North-West region which on Monday, hosted the Nigerian Vice President at the high-profile political event.
The gathering attracted Progressive Governors led by its Chairman, Hope Uzodinma; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; party leaders, and other stakeholders.
The Vice President first visited Singer Market, recently affected by fire outbreaks that destroyed goods worth billions of Naira.

At the Sani Abacha Stadium, thousands of APC supporters gathered to formally receive Governor Abba Yusuf into the party.
The Governor said his decision to leave the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) was to position Kano for stronger collaboration with the Federal Government and faster development.
He urged residents to support the new political direction, promising renewed governance and broad-based development.
Vice President Shettima described Kano as too important to remain distant from the nation’s political table, calling the Governor’s move strategic and timely.
With Governor Abba Yusuf’s entry into the APC, Kano’s political landscape enters a new phase — aligned with the ruling party and President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
