Presidential delegation meets southeast leaders

President Muhammadu Buhari says, his administration is committed to the unity and progress of the country.

President Buhari gave the assurance at a meeting with south east governors and leaders of the zone at the Government House Enugu.

President Buhari who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, commended the south east leaders and governors for organizing the meeting, which he described as the best option to discuss issues affecting the people.

The president assures that his government is doing everything possible to address the problems affecting the south east region, as well as ensuring the security of lives and property.

He notes that as a nation, the people of the south east region must work together, to move the country forward.

On the infrastructure development in the south east, President Buhari assured that the issue is receiving the immediate attention of the federal government, despite the present economic challenges.

Those who also spoke at the meeting include the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed and the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Senator Chris Ngige, among others.

On their parts, the south east governors commended President Buhari for his commitment to ensure peace in the country.

Other leaders and interest groups also presented their demands before the presidential delegation, which centered on infrastructure development in the south east , Igbo Presidency in the 2023 general election among other demands.
