Ahead of the the United Nations climate conference holding in Germany next week, Nigeria’s special presidential envoy on climate change, Ajuri Ngelale has been engaging international partners to apprise them of the country’s energy transition plans.
The envoy shared Niigeria’s clean climate vision of President Bola Tinubu’s administration with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed at the UN headquarters in New York, with both parties exploring ways of deepening collaboration with key international partners.
Ngelale also met with Landon Derentz of the Global Energy Centre of the Atlantic Council in Washington D.C. where discussions revolved around green industry, carbon capture technology and manufacturing
At another meeting with the technical working group of the U.S. state department, the envoy presented Nigeria’s plans to participate in the energy transition accelerator programme and the carbon market and management initiatives.
