President's wife Oluremi Tinubu distributes food items to 600 vulnerable persons in Nasarawa

Wife of Nigerian President and the founder of Renewed Hope Initiative, Oluremi Tinubu has distributed food items worth millions of naira to over 600 vulnerable persons and those with disabilities in Nasarawa State.

The items were distributed on her behalf by the wife of Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, at at Government House, Lafia.

Hajiya Shettima said the food outreach is designed to provide support to the underprivileged , in line with the resolve of the Tinubu administration to leave no one behind in ensuring food security and sufficiency in the country, adding that the gesture was further motivated by the concern of the First Lady for the plight of those in need.

She announced that the Federal Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with the Renewed Hope Initiative, have concluded plans to donate a truck load of fertilizer and bags of rice to each state starting with Nasarawa State.

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule represented by his deputy, Emmanuel Akabe, appreciated what he described as the First Lady’s disposition towards the needy and vulnerable.

Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage (Rtd) and Commissioner for Women Affairs, Aisha Rufai also expressed gratitude for the gesture.

So far, the Federal Capital Territory, Kano and Nasarawa States, have benefited from the scheme under the Social Investment Program of the Renewed Hope Initiative.
