Prevail on their husbands to remain neutral – Fubara to Police officers wives

FUBARA

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has urged the wives of police officers in Nigeria to be vocal and deliberate in advising their husbands to continue as enforcers of law and order to discharge their duties responsibly without being biased.

The Governor said  it is one of the best ways of ensuring truth and justice in the country.

The governor said the call has become necessary given that there are self-styled adversaries against his administration who want to frustrate governance and cause distraction with provocative acts intended to induce violence.

Speaking when he played host to the wife of the Nigerian Inspector General of Police, Elizabeth Egbetokun, Governor Fubara enjoined wives of police officers to ensure that they advise their husbands to continue to stand on the path of truth.

Mrs Egbetokun, who doubles as the president of the Police Officers Wives Association, otherwise known as POWA, is in Port Harcourt to inaugurate a shopping complex built by the state branch of the association.

She also uses the opportunity to thank the Rivers State Government for the immense support POWA continues to enjoy in the state.

While applauding POWA for its numerous feats, including the support for widows, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has a very important task he would like the wives of the country’s police officers to do … advise their husbands to carry out their duties professionally and without bias.

He further wants them to pray for Rivers State and strongly advise their husband to stand on the path of truth.
