The Cross River State command of the Nigerian Correctional Service NCoS says its officers and men have been trained specially to prevent any attacks on its facilities across the State.
The State Comptroller, Suanu Kinane stated this when he received the leadership of the Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ in his office, assuring that the command is also collaborating with sister security agencies to beef up security.
Kinane who commended the NUJ for finding time to see what they were doing in the command, expressed optimism that the partnership between the media and his office would help keep citizens informed about the activities of the correctional facilities in the State.

Speaking Earlier, Chairman of NUJ in Cross River State, Comrade Gill Nsa, pledged the full cooperation and support of the media in the state in ensuring that activities of the Command were given adequate publicity.
The beef up of Security according to the Comptroller covered all the Correctional Services Custodial centres ,including Ogoja, Obubra and Yakurr
