The federal government has been told to improve the capacity of primary health care service delivery across the seven hundred and seventy-four local government areas across the country and as well improve the manpower to ensure effective service delivery.
The president of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners in Nigeria, Ahmed Yahaya stated this during the opening of the annual scientific conference in Port Harcourt.
Community health practitioners nationwide were in Rivers state to brainstorm over current issues concerning medical quackery in health care services in the country.
Quackery in health services promotes fraudulent or ignorant medical practices which had caused more harm to the society in recent times.
This gathering is an opportunity for professionals in the medical field to come together and proffer solutions on how to checkmate negative practices in Healthcare delivery.
They also emphasized the need for the federal government to improve the capacity of primary healthcare delivery centers across the seven hundred and seventy-four local government areas of the country and to build their manpower capacity.
The theme of the gathering is; Unmasking quackery: strengthening community Healthcare practitioners in the fight against misinformation and fraudulent practices”
According to them, the theme is apt, hoping that at the end of the gathering the association will come up with decisions that would take the health sector to the next level.
