Primary and secondary schools in Bauchi State will now reopen from the 12th of October.
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed gave the approval for the reopening but warns that it must follow the strict adherence of the NCDC’s COVID -19 protocols.
A circular released by the Commissioner for Education, Aliyu Usman Tilde, said the development followed a meeting with Exchange Program and the Commissioners for Education of the 19 northern state.

The statement revealed that after consultation with the Ministry of Education and other ministries in the state, and owners of private schools, they resolved that, no school will open, unless and until it meets the requirements stipulated in the schedule of COVID 19 protocols.
It also says that schools with low-class population can resume fully, while any school that opens without decontamination will be shut down by the NCDC focal person.
It could be recalled that in March 2020, schools were closed in the wake of COVID 19 pandemic.
