Private Medical Practitioners Urge Govt. To Monitor Activities Of Quack Doctors

The Association of Nigeria Private Medical Practitioners ANPMP, has called on the Federal and States Governments to scale up monitoring exercise of medical practitioners in other to weed off quackery in the profession.

Chairman OTA zone of the body, Dr. Oluseye Olufunso who made the call during a medical outreach said ANPMP in conjunction with the Nigeria Medical Association NMA have charged two quack doctors to court over professional misconduct in the state.

The Medical Practitioners decried the growing rate of quackery in the sector describing it as alarming.
They said ogun state is experiencing the presence of more quacks which has made the body to put in more efforts to arrest the situation leading to the apprehension of the two suspects.

The Nigeria Medical Association NMA and the Association of Nigeria Private Medical Practitioners want Government at all levels, including professional bodies and other relevant stakeholders to reactivate their anti-quackery machinery for effective usage.

The professional body advised Nigerians against patronizing quack doctors and nurses whenever they seek medical attention
