Governor Dauda Lawal has brought relief to 50 graduates of Zamfara State who completed their studies at the Crescent University, Abeokuta, in Ogun State, nearly nine years ago but were unable to collect their certificates due to unpaid tuition fees by the previous administration.

While presenting the long-withheld certificates to the graduates at the Government House in Gusau, Governor Lawal said the intervention reflects his administration’s firm resolve to revive education and correct past injustices.

The day of joy finally came the way of the beneficiaries of the Zamfara State scholarship scheme who returned home years ago without certificates, despite successfully completing their studies.

For almost a decade, their academic futures remained on hold following the failure of the past administration to settle outstanding tuition fees, forcing Crescent University to withhold their certificates.

Today, that long wait finally comes to an end after Governor Lawal approved payment of the outstanding fees, paving the way for the release of their certificates.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, one of the graduates described the moment as the happiest day of their lives, recalling how years of delay cost many of them the opportunity to participate in the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, due to age limits.

Among the 50 graduates is a First Class degree holder in Chemistry, alongside several others who earned Second Class Upper degrees.
