A Pro- democracy group concern Nigeria has condemned the continuous detention of a female soldier over alleged violation of military rules and regulations after she accepted a marriage proposal from a male corps member at the National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Kwara State.
The Convener of the group, Deji Adeyanju in a statement said the prolonged detention and not granting access to her family for basic needs particularly to medical care are violations of her human rights by army authorities.
The group said such gross violation of human right, abuse of power and excessive use of force is absolutely uncalled for and condemnable
and further called for the immediate release of the detained female soldier before it sparks national global outrage.
