The Supreme Court, National Judicial Council (NJC), and Federal High Court have pulled out of the planned June 2 industrial strike called by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN).
The decision follows intervention by Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, who held a closed-door meeting with workers.
According to a statement by Joel Ebiloma, the Public Relations Officer, JUSUN NJC Chapter, workers received assurances from the CJN that their demands would be met, as the CJN has visited the Presidency and tabled their demands for resolution.
The NJC however granted authorities two weeks to meet their demands, including releasing statutory allocations to the Judiciary based on the 2025 Appropriation.
They are also calling for the payment of Five months’ arrears of wage award, the Implementation of N70,000 national minimum wage and 25/35% salary increase.
