Electricity consumers in Niger State have suspended the proposed shutdown of the three hydro-power stations as earlier planned.
The resolution was passed at the Niger State House of Assembly where the stakeholders agreed to suspend the shutdown, for fear of hijack by hoodlums.
The electricity consumers at the meeting expressed divided opinion as to whether to go ahead with the planned shutdown.
The Chairman of the session who is the member representing Bosso constituency, Madaki Bosso, and Chairman House Committee on Labour, however, advised that the shutdown should be put on hold.

It was therefore, agreed that the shutdown will be carried out at a later date.
The stakeholders also said that the essence is not to destroy properties or harm anyone, but an avenue for electricity consumers across the country to have a feel of what is happening in Niger State.
