Leaders of the Taraba State Tiv Youths Association on Tuesday staged a peaceful protest at the National Assembly Complex, in Abuja calling for urgent federal intervention over alleged killings and displacement of Tiv communities in Taraba State.
Addressing journalists at the National Assembly gate, the group alleged sustained attacks on Tiv settlements in Takum, Donga, and Wukari local government areas, resulting in deaths, destruction of property, and mass displacement.
They further accused security forces of complicity and inaction, claiming military checkpoints have restricted access to affected communities.
The protesters appealed to President Bola Tinubu and service chiefs to investigate the situation, disarm militias, and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
