Tricycle operators in Ilorin the Kwara State capital have staged a protest to express their displeasure over rising cost of commodities and increased hardship following latest hike in the pump price of premium motor spirit, PMS, popularly known as petrol.
The angry tricycle operators who blocked major roads along the popular Maraba-GSS Fate Road in the state capital say they are tired of the current developments in Nigeria given the high cost of petrol and spare parts which they say has driven them deeper into poverty.
According to the protesting tricycle operators, passengers in the city could no longer afford the high transportation cost following latest hike in fuel price which has also impacted on their business.
Some of the residents affected by the withdrawal of services by the tricycle operators also want the Federal Government to address the challenge before it gets out of control.
