The case between Member Representing Jos East-Jos South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Dachung Bagos and the Plateau State Government on the planned partnership with Jaiz Bank to rebuild the burnt Jos Main Market, popularly known as Terminus Market came up for hearing on Monday.
The premises of the Plateau State High Court where the case was holding was however besieged by different groups of protesters who were for and against the partnership.
Recall that Dachung Bagos, had approached the Plateau State High Court to seek for an order to stop the partnership between the State Government and Jaiz Bank following protest and concerns raised on the terms of agreement of the project by some citizens of the state after both parties had concluded arrangements for the rebuilding of the market.
But after listening to arguments from both counsels, the presiding Judge, Justice S.P Gang, adjourned the Matter till August 30 for continuation of hearing.
Counsel to the Plateau State Government and Attorney-General of the State, Chrisantors Ahmadu declined comments while counsel to the House Member, Niri Darong, gave an insight on the court proceedings.
Meanwhile, different groups of protesters with those against and those in support of the partnership between the Plateau State Government and Jaiz Bank were on ground to air their views on the matter.
With the adjournment of the case, people of the State are hopeful that matter will be resolved in the interest of all.
