The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ has staged a protest asking for answers to the disappearance of one of its member Tordue Salem, who is a reporter with Vanguard Newspapers covering the House of Representatives in the National Assembly.

Chairman of the FCT Council, Emmanuel Ogbeche, who led the aggrieved journalists to the Police Force Headquarters on Monday asked that urgent steps be taken to secure the release the victim from those keeping him.

The protesting journalists carried placards with inscriptions such as “Free Tordue Now”, “Enough is Enough”, “Stop Violence Against Journalists”, “Free the Press”, “Journalists’ Lives Matter”, “We Want Tordue Back Alive”.

The missing journalists was last seen on the 13th of October 2021 at the Total Filling Station opposite the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
