Trailer drivers have blocked major roads leading into Bida town in Niger state.
The protest was to allow the drivers with their heavy vehicles, to ply the Minna-Bida road still under construction.

The trailer drivers described the alternative road the Bida-Lapai-Lambata road, being used for over six months, as nightmare, as they spent days due to the bad nature of the road which Some Bida residents also described as unfortunate.
They added that vehicular and human movements into Bida have therefore become very difficult.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Wasiu Abiodun, could not be reached for reactions on the development.
