Public and private schools in Kano have complied with the state government’s directive to close, owing to fear of a second wave of Covid 19.
Some school proprietors and parents who spoke to ait. live, also attributed the order of the state government to the recent abduction of over 300 students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State.
The fear of the residents was further heightened when the state government, through the commissioner for education, Muhammad Sanusi, ordered all public and private schools to shutdown.

Though the decision was applauded by residents,Some proprietors were not happy with the manner the shutting down order was handled.
Before the directives, schools in Kano were expected to close for the term on 18th December, 2020.
