A Qatar Airways flight carrying 248 passengers and 12 crew members made a safe emergency landing at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Friday night, after developing a technical fault mid air within Nigerian airspace.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, said it immediately activated its emergency response plan after receiving distress alerts through the 767 and 112 toll free lines.
With support from air traffic control and emergency responders on standby, the pilot successfully executed a forced landing on the runway. All occupants were safely evacuated, with no injuries or loss of life recorded.

Airport operations were briefly affected but have since returned to normal, while Aviation authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the technical fault.
