LOVE OKOHO

Love Ndarake Okoho and Miracle John, have emerged as best amateur golfers in Nigeria after grabbing tickets to the Qatar world amateur open in February and the celebrity golf challenge for ladies in November 2025.

The ladies category was keenly contested between Love Okoho and Prudent Okeoma because the winner was decided via playoffs over three holes after both players tied at 250 points over three days.

The three-day Sun Open at the Python Golf club in Port Harcourt-Rivers State, had over one hundred amateur golfers jostling for the two automatic tickets to the world Amateur Open in the Qatar after over 2 decades absence due to a ban on Nigerian golfers by Qatari authorities.

The female category for the Celebrity Golf Challenge in November went the distance after both love Okoho and Prudent Okeoma, were tied at 250 points before love’s experience paid off in the play offs.

Miracle John was almost heading for play offs on day three with Umoru Odaudu but a birdie on hole 18 was the difference as he defeated Umoru 218-219 points to pick the ticket to the Qatar world amateur open.

It was a refreshing feeling for the players as they assured Nigerians of a good outing in Qatar.

The winner of the Qatar Amateur Open will book automatic tickets to the Qatar Masters for professionals.
