Over one hundred houses have been destroyed in the Zogirma community and four different communities in Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi State, following a heavy downpour that lasted for hours.
A resident of Zugirma village, Haruna Danmalam, told newsmen in the state capital, Birnin KEBBI that many people sustained injuries from the incident, adding that many animals and other properties were also lost to the flood.

The Secretary of Bunza Local Government Area Muhammed Mawo, who visited the affected areas, on behalf of the chairman of the local government, sympathized with the affected residents.
He assured the victims that the local government council will compile a comprehensive report on the incident, and submit same to the state government for necessary action.
