Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, has distributed 235 trucks of assorted grains to serve as Ramadan palliatives to the people of the state.
The governor directed security agents to arrest and prosecute any person or member of the distribution committee, or government officials, diverting the grains.
Idris said the gesture is in furtherance of the compassionate policy of his administration as a caring government.
“It is a way of showing solidarity and support to the people, and for them to have access to resources to survive.
“It is a symbolic gesture of communality and being each other’s brother’s keeper.”
According to the Kebbi State governor, the distribution of the grains is also an interim measure to bring succour to the generality of the people of the state.
He said politics was over, elections are over, and what remains is good governance. Nobody should be left out; there are no party differences, he noted
