The traditional ruler of Uwanno Kingdom in Agenebode, Etsako east local government area of Edo state, his royal highness George Egabor says the virtues of late Raymond Dokpesi were real and seasonal which is not easy to come by.
The traditional ruler said this when the eldest son of the late septuagenarian Raymond Dokpesi junior visited him at his palace to formally inform him of the demise of his father and the plans for the funeral.
The late septuagenarian and founder of the first private broadcast station in Nigeria, high chief Raymond Dokpesi before his death, was the Ezomo of Uwanno Kingdom in Agenebode his hometown, a well-respected high chief and politician in his locality and beyond.

Upon his death, his eldest son and chairman of Daar Communications PLC, Raymond Dokpesi Junior accompanied by some friends and family members left Abuja from Agenebode to see the traditional ruler, the Okumagbe of Uwanno Kingdom.
The visit was to formally inform him of the demise of one of the high chiefs of the palace and to unveil plans for his burial.
The Okumagbe of Uwanno Kingdom who recounted the good days of Raymond Dokpesi said the kind of virtues late Dokpesi possessed comes in a season and they were real.
The emotional traditional ruler could not control his emotions as tears rolled out from his eyes.
From there they moved to the sacred heart Catholic church, Agenebode to inform the reverend’s father about the burial plans.
The clergyman extolled the virtues of the deceased and prayed for the family.
Raymond Dokpesi Junior also visited his step-grandmother, the aged woman upon seeing him burst into tears.
The entourage of the chairman of Daar Communications plc also took a brief stop at Saint Peter’s grammar school, Agenebode, the proposed venue for the burial ceremony as the deceased’s compound may not be enough to accommodate the array of dignitaries expected to grace the final journey home of high chief Raymond Dokpesi in his hometown, Agenebode.
