Yohanna, who confirmed this in a telephone conversation with AIT.live described the news as the best Christmas gift ahead of the celebration, adding that they can now sleep with their two eyes closed.

He added that they await the reuniting of the children with their families and after which, final head count will follow.

The confirmation of their release brings the total to 230 children and students of the school abducted after the earlier release of 100 about two weeks ago.

Recall that terrorists attacked St. Mary’s Catholic School Papiri on November 21 and abducted about 315 students and 12 teachers. Some of the abductees were able to escape from the terrorists and return to their families.
