Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has been recognized by the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) for her contributions to girl child education, hygiene, and maternal healthcare.

The award was received by the wife of Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima at the 29th and 30th OAFLAD General Assemblies in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

OAFLAD, under the “We Are Equal” campaign, promotes gender equality and women empowerment across Africa.

First Ladies at the event praised Tinubu’s advocacy for women and children, highlighting the critical link between sustainable development and peace, and the need for investments in girl child education and women’s livelihoods.
