Prominent Islamic scholar and first Grand Khadi of Niger State, Sheikh Ahmad Lemu is dead. He died in the early hours of Thursday at his hometown in Minna, the Niger State capital.
The 91-year old scholar published so many Islamic books and literature. The late Lemu was King Faisal Abdul-Aziz award in recognition of his contribution to the promotion of peaceful co-existence among people of different faiths and backgrounds.

He was one of the founding fathers of Islamic Education Trust with its headquarters in Minna
A statement by one of his children, Nuruddeen Lemu, says he will be buried in Minna according to Islamic rites.
