Lawmakers in the green chamber on Tuesday rejected two bills seeking greater inclusion of women in politics.
The bill seeks for the creation of special seats for women in the National and State Houses of Assembly.
The other bill seeks for the provision of Affirmative Action for women in political party administration.
Both were kicked out.
This was despite the presence and campaigns by the wives of the president and vice president, Aisha Buhari and Dolapo Osinbajo.

The lawmakers overwhelmingly voted against the two bills as 208 voted against and 81 in favour of the Special Seats for the women, while 107 voted against Affirmative Action for Women in Political Party Administration, and 195 voted for.
An amendment reducing the percentage of the Affirmative Action for Women to 15% to see that women have a stake in Political Party administration still failed.
Both bills require a two-thirds majority of the lawmakers present to scale through.
The lawmakers in the green chamber also voted against including the Value-added Tax on the Exclusive List, pension for presiding officers of the National Assembly, immunity for lawmakers and Judicial Officers.
