As the strike embarked on by the National Association of Resident Doctors enters its second day, many patients at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, AKTH have been left stranded and unattended.

Only patients with emergency cases are being attended to, as others were left with no option than to seek for medical attention elsewhere.

Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital is one of the major government hospitals patronize by residents of the state for medical treatment.

The ongoing strike has made the hospital to become a shadow of itself, with no doctor in sight.

Those who came for treatment were turned back except for those on emergency.

The General Secretary, Association of Resident Doctors of the hospital, Tahiru Sani, said they have fully complied with the strike action.

He called on the Federal Government to review the current hazard allowance received by its members and pay House Officers their salaries.
