As Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission plan to review the country’s revenue sharing formula, Adamawa state indigenes made their position known when a team from the commission visited Yola on a one-day sensitization.
Some representatives of the various groups in attendance, advocated for the equal allocation of revenue, while some demanded that the local government be allocated the lion share of the revenue since it is closer to the people at the grassroots.
The Federal Commissioner, Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Salamatu Bala said, the current sensitization is necessitated by the constitutional provision which stipulated that, after five years, the commission should work towards reviewing the sharing formula of the Federal Allocation.

Adamawa State Government also added its voice to the sharing formula.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, represented by the Chief of Staff to the Government House, Yola, Maxwell Gidado, added that the revenue sharing formula is in favour of the Federal Government, which made the federal system questionable.
The current revenue sharing Formula was adopted in 1992 and has not been reviewed since then
