The Nigerian Customs service says the deployment of intelligence-led intervention, risks profiling and routine cargo examination has helped in curbing revenue leakage, smuggling, drugs peddling and same time protecting national interests.
The Area one Controller, Port Harcourt Port, comptroller Salamatu Atuluku stated this while briefing journalist on the revenue generated during the twenty twenty five fiscal year .
In line with the Federal Government’s economic diversification agenda, the Nigerian Customs service have intensified efforts toward facilitating legitimate export trade.
Speaking with journalists while reviewing the achievement of the command in the year twenty twenty five, The customs area controller Salamatu Atuluku says the Command was able to process a total export volume of One Million, One Hundred and Eleven Thousand and Seven metric tonnes, comprising both oil and non-oil commodities.
In revenue performance, comptroller Atuluku says the Command surpassed its revenue target for the year 2025 with surplus of seventy one point eight Billion naira representing 33.1 percent performance above target.
She says the the Port Harcourt Area I Command remains resolute in consolidating on the gains, strengthening partnerships, and effective delivering on the mandate of the Nigeria Customs Service in support of national economic growth, security, and public interest.
