In a bid to bridge the health care deficit in Nigeria, particularly in the hard-to-reach Areas, a non-governmental organisation, Rural Health Initiative for Improved Living, is stepping up its social cooperative responsibility by facilitating a two-day free medical outreach to some communities in Edo and Delta states.
The medical outreach held in Benin City, the Edo state capital, saw over 2,500 beneficiaries receive free consultations, treatments, among others

Speaking during the outreach, Rev. Mrs Josephine Kpere-Daibo, President of RHIFIL, highlighted the organisation’s long-standing commitment to improving healthcare access in rural and underserved areas as a way of complementing ongoing efforts from government at all levels

Rev. Kpere-Daibo, on his part, explained that RHIFIL’s continued support for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) settlement in Ohogua, Benin City, where the organisation built a 30-unit toilet facility, borehole, and generator to ensure regular water and power supply, deserves commendation
She reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to bridging the healthcare gap and ensuring that no one is left behind due to financial or logistical barriers.

The program featured general health check-ups, blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, vaccinations, and the distribution of free medications to the residents
