The All Progressives Congress APC has concluded its ward congresses in the Ahoada East and Khana Local Government Areas of Rivers State.

The exercise was held to elect delegates for the party’s upcoming primaries ahead of the February 21 House of Assembly bye-elections into Ahoada Constituency II and Khana Constituency II

The exercise was supervised by the Party Congress and Primary Committee, chaired by Shehu Dange, with Smart Iheanazor serving as Secretary.

Members of the party’s appeal committee were also in attendance.

The committee visited all six wards within the constituency to monitor the conduct of the elections and ensure strict adherence to party guidelines.

Observers from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by the Assistant Electoral Officer in charge of operations for the LGA, Okogbule Emilia, were also present to validate the process.

The congress was conducted peacefully in the presence of relevant security agencies with party members participating via voice vote.

At the conclusion of the exercise, five delegates were elected from each ward.

The exercise was also seamless in Khana constituency I, Khana Local Government Area with Oyoala Peter, as Chairman of the Khana delegate congress and primary election committee
