Given the rising political tension in the state, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has urged the people, particularly his supporters, to remain peaceful and refrain from acts capable of plunging the state into further crisis.

He says he would not tolerate or encourage any breakdown of law and order in the state.

Speaking at the inauguration of the place of the paramount ruler of Akpor Kingdom in Obio Akpor local government area, the governor warns that if any crisis were to happen, the people will be the greatest losers, as their concern is for the state and not for profit or any selfish reason.

It’s the second week into the current phase of the commissioning of projects in Rivers State.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara was in Obio Akpor local government area to inaugurate the palace of the paramount ruler of the Akpor kingdom.

It’s a dream that has taken over 200 years to achieve.

In keeping with his mantra of “Rivers People First,” Governor Fubara says his administration will continue to embark on projects and services that will add meaning to the people’s lives.

With the political atmosphere in the state now tense, the governor is calling on the people, particularly his supporters, to remain strong.

He also wants them to be peaceful and law-abiding.

On hand to inaugurate the new palace was the chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, Chike Worlu Wodo.

He also offers the governor a word of encouragement as he battles those he tags as enemies of the state.

Monday also sees Governor Siminalayi Fubara being conferred with the title that has never been given to anyone before in the history of the Akpor kingdom… Eze Omenma, meaning the generous king who does good things for his people
