To this end, the government has embarked on building new hospitals, rehabilitating and equipping old and abandoned health facilities, as well as recruiting more doctors and other health workers into the system.
When completed, the Omoku Zonal Hospital will be a great relief for the people of the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni local government area, as they will no longer travel down to Port Harcourt for treatment.

Work is also going on simultaneously at the other zonal hospitals at Ahoada, Degema and Bori.
The governor says nothing will distract him from fulfilling his promises to the people.
The Rivers State Governor also inspected work on the 33-kilometre road stretching from Elele to Omoku.
Work on the road that cuts across three local government areas, Ikwerre, Emohua and Omoku, is still on schedule despite the challenge of the flooding being experienced.
