The Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara says starting from 2025, the education sector in the state would witness a massive turn around in the areas of infrastructure and other facilities, manpower and overall improvement in quality and standard especially at the basic and secondary levels.
The Governor who on Friday inaugurated the Senior Secondary Schools and the state Universal Basic Education Board, noted that the education sector will receive a high percentage of the 2025 budget.

The Governor said he expects the chairmen and members of the Senior Secondary Schools Board and Rivers State Universal Basic Education board to display a high sense of responsibility and see to it that the standard is raised higher especially at the foundation level … which according to him is the most important stage for nurturing a person.

To further show that he means business, the governor disclosed that beginning from 2025, the education sector would witness massive transformation in terms of funding, infrastructure, teaching and learning facilities, and qualified manpower.

Governor Fubara noted that education alongside agriculture and health will receive the highest allocation in the 2025 budget.
Aware of the enormous burden that has been placed on them, the chairmen of the two boards promised not to disappoint the people of Rivers State.

Governor Sim Fubara also directed the Senior Secondary Schools Board to immediately commence the promotion of teachers.
