Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has called on the people of the state to join hands with him to save the soul of the state and restore it to where it used to be, saying that it is not and can never be one man’s property or private enterprise.

In a veiled reference to his immediate predecessor, Governor Fubara says, he will not give his ‘kidney or liver’ or compromise himself to anyone if it is the only way he can be considered to be loyal.

Speaking at an interdenominational church service to mark the 2024 Nigerian Independence Day Celebration, Governor Fubara noted that he will continue to stand for truth and that his decisions will continue to be in the interest of the state.

This Sunday, Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other Christians are in church to pray for the peace and progress of the country.

The governor says it also marks the freedom of Rivers State from the clutches of those who do not mean well for it.

He said the end is near for enemies of the state.

He also responded to all those who say he has nothing to show as Governor of Rivers State.

Siminalayi Fubara wants the people to join hands with him to save the soul of the state, adding that he will stand for the truth and protect the interest of the state at all times.

Ahead of the local government election scheduled for the 5th of October, 2024, Governor Fubara assured that the polls will be successful.

In another development, the Rivers State Governor wants the people of the state to support the fight against illegal oil bunkering and pipeline vandalism..

The governor also commended the security agencies in the state, saying that, but for their efforts, the state would have been destroyed.
