The Rivers State Government has unveiled plans to rehabilitate the state secretariat.

The administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas, retired, said the effort is part of a broader commitment to enhancing public service efficiency and the welfare of the workforce.

Vice Admiral Ibas (rtd) disclosed this at the closing ceremony of a 4-day training workshop for top civil servants and administrators in the state.

It’s the close of a 4-day training workshop for top civil servants and administrators in Rivers State.

The programme was designed to equip them with cutting-edge leadership skills to help drive government reforms.

With the training over, it’s back to work for the participants who are expected to put the experiences they’ve garnered to good use.

While emphasising the importance of training, the Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas, retired, disclosed that adequate attention will also be given to the physical work environment to enhance productivity and excellence.

To address the concerns, the administrator announced that the state government will embark on a phased rehabilitation of the state secretariat to ensure an efficient workspace and review public service welfare policies that would motivate the workforce.

Vice Admiral Ibas also used the opportunity to charge local government council administrators to apply the skills acquired to deliver impactful governance.

He said the Rivers State Government remains committed to building a public service that is efficient, motivated, and equipped to meet the needs of the people.
