The Rivers state flood prevention committee has assured that Governor Sim Fubara is fully committed to ameliorating the sufferings of those affected by flood disaster in the state
The deputy governor who is also the chairman of the flood committee Prof Ngozi Ordu during a press briefing in port Harcourt outlined the measures put in place to support flood victims ,including the distribution of relief materials to various local government areas within the next three days
The devastating Flood disaster has ravaged most communities in Rivers state destroying farm lands and rendered most people homeless.
She also disclosed that relief materials will be distributed to three local government areas of Rivers state within three days.
The chairman of the flood prevention committee further advocated the need to dredge the orashi River to mitigate the impact of flooding in Rivers state
